JG G36C

I think an argument can be made that the JG G36C is the best rifle on the market. What do you guys think?

JG G36c

I wouldn't go that far, but it is one of the best valued rifles on the market. Once JG began tossing a metal spring guide and bushings on the gun, they saved me $30.

There are some areas where the gun could be improved.

The stock pin. in that area there is a place for a set screw to mate with the stock pin. for whatever reason, they did not fully drill this hole and left out a set pin. Eventually the pin will work itself out. If you're not paying attention, it can fall out.

You can fix it by carefully applying a little super glue to the top of the pin when it works itself out. Then tap it down flush. when the glue dries, it will stay put. If you use just the right amount, you can still tap the pin out.

The inner barrel can sometimes need to be cleaned immediately out of the box. You can find some kind of adhesive buildup in the inner barrel. The only way to get rid of it is to remove the inner barrel and run WD40 down the bare barrel. Then run a soft bristled brush down the bore.

This buildup appears to be an adhesive they use to glue the hop bucking on. If it is present in your barrel, you can have jams or accuracy problems, depending upon how much is present.

I never noticed that. Oh by

I never noticed that. Oh by the way, who are you?

Another flaw in the G36 is

Another flaw in the G36 is the hop. It is extremely fragile. Avoid problems in this area by immediately replacing it with the Poly Metal hop (about $40).

You can use the SRC metal hop, which is less expensive, but you will need to remove the nozzle from the magazine well.

If you take the gun apart, you must do it in this order to protect the hop from being damaged.

1. Remove allen/hex screw from the back of the G36 receiver. This is found when you fold the stock next to the hinge.

2. Remove the magazine well.

3. Disconnect the battery wire connector

4. Reach into the receiver and push the hop forward slightly. grab the pistol grip and rotate it towards the end of the stock. It should come right out.

5. With the lower receiver now gone, you can remove the three screws which hold the outer barrel assembly in place.

6. To remove the hop assembly, push the hop forward and twist. allow the spring to push the hop and barrel out.
